Intel Security Group (previously McAfee, Inc.) is an American global computer security software company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, and the world's largest dedicated security technology company.
The company has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Intel since February 2011, and now forms part of its Intel Security division.
On 7 September 2016, Intel announced a strategic deal with TPG Capital to convert Intel Security into a joint venture between Intel and TPG Capital called McAfee. TPG Capital will be the majority owner with 51% of McAfee.
